Projects: Upavon Barn

The rubble within the wall of this barn failed and the wall fell away from the interior skin completely. We reconstructed it by consolidating the stone rubble within the wall and then rebuilt the outer brick skin tying it to the rubble so it will not happen again. The bricks were re-used where possible and handmade bricks were sourced and matched to the existing.

The structure of the barn was unstable and the walls cracked. These cracks were stabilised using helical ties which are mortared in, providing an unobtrusive repair.
